Welcome to Eliava Biopreparations, where we are at the forefront of revolutionizing the fight against bacterial infections. We are committed to developing innovative solutions that combat AMR - the growing threat of bacterial resistance and improve patient’s health.
With decades of expertise and a rich scientific legacy, we harness the power of bacteriophages – nature's own creations that target and destroy specific bacteria. Our cutting-edge research and development efforts have resulted in the creation of therapeutic and prophylactic bacteriophage preparations. Currently, the company is producing six standard bacteriophage products, that are available on the market, together with several costume products, for use in a wide variety of applications. The aim of EBP is to use the unique knowledge and experience of the Eliava Institute to produce highly effective and safe bacteriophage preparations for use in human health, veterinary and environmental care. Eliava Biopreparations company received an exclusive right to use scientific developments and produce preparations developed at the Eliava Institute. Today our product proudly carries a trademark “Developed by George Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology, and Virology”. Eliava BioPreparations Company is the direct successor of the phage production that was operating at the Eliava Institute during the period of almost 70 years. EBP employs more than 30 scientists and phage production specialists, who work or used to work at the Eliava Institute.
Phages are part of nature. Without any human involvement, hundreds of billions of phages eliminate the spread of bacteria on our planet every second, keeping the perfect balance. In today’s dynamic world, the problem of bacterial resistance is becoming one of the most challenging threats. This is why, EBP, together with the Eliava Institute and its group of companies uses bacteriophage o target the problem of AMR - bacterial resistance against different antibacterial remedies. We have the most advanced knowledge, and longest ongoing history, for the development and use of bacteriophages for science, therapy, veterinary, environmental care, and numerous other applications. We have not stopped innovating for more than 100 years by now, offering modern solutions to bacterial problems.
